On August 5, a topping-out event was held in Lielvarde celebrating the crucial construction phase of the National Armed Forces Air Base passenger terminal.

OLIMPS is the contractor of the  passenger terminal design and supervision works.

The terminal is being built in accordance with the capability development plan approved by NATO in 2016, in order to secure  the operational reception of the allied armed forces units in Latvia.

The construction project is managed by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The terminal is designed according to NATO standards and will serve to receive tactical transport aircraft, personnel and cargo. The terminal will accommodate a lounge room, cargo handling rooms, baggage conveyor belts, passenger check-in rooms, as well as other solutions required for full passenger service.
